The nickname Hubmen comes from the name given to the workers working in Jordan. Jordan was half way along the trading route between Minneapolis & Mankato (both along the river & the rail lines). Jordan was commonly referred to as the "Hub". So the high school ended up using "Hubmen" as the name for the nickname of their school. Thanks to Tim P. for information on Jordan.
