Bloomington High School opened in the early 1920's. In 1957, Bloomington joined the Lake Conference after previously being in the Minnesota Valley Conference. The name change to Lincoln took place in 1965 when the second Bloomington high school (Kennedy) opened. Jefferson opened in 1970, giving Bloomington three high schools through the 1970's and early 1980's. Lincoln closed following the 1981-82 school year, due to dropping enrollment numbers in the Bloomington school district. Bloomington has had two schools (Jefferson and Kennedy) since the fall of 1982.

Minneapolis Lutheran High School began their football program in 1963 when located at 42nd and S. Wentworth in Minneapolis. The school moved to the former Edina East high school at the beginning of the 1980 season. The football program was dropped for one season to JV in 1989. The school moved to its third and final site in east Bloomington beginning in 1990. The Lancers competed in the Tri-Valley Conference until the conference folded after the 2001-2002 school year. From the 2005-2006 school year, the Lancers competed as Concordia Academy Bloomington after merging its administration with Concordia Academy in Roseville. The football program ended after the 2008 season prior to the closing of the Bloomington campus. (a) Both of these helmets were worn during there last few seasons.

Edina High School opened in 1949. They were also known as the Edina-Morningide Hornets. The Hornets played in the Lake Conference until 1971. Due to growing enrollment Edina built another high school only a few miles away. Edina High School was renamed Edina East High School. The new high school was called Edina West. Golden Valley High School opened in 1957. Due to a drop in enrollment the school was absorbed by Hopkins School District in 1981. The remaining Golden Valley students would attend Hopkins Lindbergh High School. The Golden Valley High School building was later bought by the Breck School and converted it to there high school. Sacred Heart co-oped with Climax/Fisher to form the Polk County West in the Top of the State Conference in 2014. In 2013 the Eagles wore two pink stipes on their helmet (a) for Breast Cancer Awareness month (October). Each stripe started on the side of the helmet bumper. Humboldt’s nickname was formerly the “Indians.” After four years of debate the school board changed the school's name and new logo to the Hawks, starting in the 1992–1993 school year. Virginia football program began in 1903. The team wore a thin leather helmet with one chin strap from the start of the program in 1903 until 1928. In 2021 Virigina began a co-op with Eveleth-Gilbert and is now called Rock Ridge. Thanks to Ed C. and Dan Haege for the information Virigina's historical helmets. Dan's father, Art, was the head coach of Virigina from 1971-1976. He took a took a football program that had won 3 games in 3 years to two years of 8-1 seasons.
